About
Fortification can be performed on any weapon or armor to increase it's statistics (damage or defense, respectively). There are 10 levels of fortification: +0 to +9. Each level increases the statistics of the armor or weapon; higher levels of fortification (i.e. +7 to +8) drastically increase the statistics compared to lower fortified items (i.e. +2 to +3)
For armor fortification, the following modifiers are added to the Pants, Gloves, and Boots as they are upgraded (as well as the standard increase in defense)
| Armor | Modifier | +1 | +2 | +3 | +4 | +5 | +6 | +7 | +8 | +9 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pants | + All Magic Resist | - | - | - | +3% | +4% | +5% | +6% | +7% | +10% |
| Boots | + Guard Rate | - | - | - | +3% | +4% | +5% | +6% | +7% | +10% |
| Gloves | + Critical Rate | - | - | - | +3% | +4% | +5% | +6% | +7% | +10% |
Fortifying
To fortify a weapon or armor piece, visit the Blacksmith NPC:
Axion (Blacksmith, Additional Armor Merchant) in Braiken or
Pablos (Blacksmith, Additional Armor Merchant) in Loa
Choose "[Fortify] I would like to fortify my item"
- You will be presented with the fortification window:
- Click on the weapon or armor you would like to fortify within your inventory to load that item into the window.
- The window will show you the cost to attempt the fortification (there is no display of the success rate). For reference, these costs and success rates are listed below.
- Depending on the current fortification level you will need to supply an Argate (+1 to +3 requires a Copper Argate, +4 to +6 requires a Silver Argate, and +7 to +9 requires a Gold Argate)
- You may also use a Blacksmith's Talisman (D-Shop item), which increases your chances by another 18%. Simply click the Talisman in your inventory and it will be loaded into the fortification window.
- Click on "Reinforce" to attempt the fortification.
- Failing to fortify an item to +7, +8, or +9 will destroy the item.
- Failing any other level will cause the item to return to +0
Visit the Weapons or Armor pages and browse to your item to see the exact increase in statistics as you fortify.
Visual Effect
Each of the 3 argates will produce a different glowing effect of the item itself:
Rates
Unlike Socketing, fortification success does not depend on the level or magic status of the item. However, the rates are slightly different for armor vs. weapons.
