Upgrading
From Dekaronwiki
About
Upgrading allows you to change the magic status of a weapon or armor (i.e. Create a Noble item from a normal white item). The rates are very low for successfully upgrading an item. The Mavric is used in this process much like Argates are used for fortification, and the process is very similar.
Weapons and Armor can be of type:
- Normal (white) gear. This gear has no special enhancements.
- Magic (1) gear. This gear has a single magic enhancements - it's title is blue proceeded by the word "Magic"
- Magic (2) gear. This gear has 2 magic enhancements - it's title is also blue proceeded by the word "Magic"
- Noble gear. This gear has 2 magic enhancements as above plus an additional Noble enhancement - it's title is light blue proceeded by the word "Noble"
- Divine Noble gear. This gear has all the enhancements of a Noble item plus an additional Divine enhancement - it's title is yellow proceeded by the word "Divine".
See more about Magic status of gear here.
Upgrading
To upgrade a weapon or armor piece, visit the Alchemist NPC:
Choose "[Option Item] I would like to create an option item"
- You will be presented with the upgrade window:
- Click on the weapon or armor you would like to upgrade within your inventory to load that item into the window.
- The window will show you the cost to attempt the upgrade (there is no display of the success rate). You can view the upgrade rates on each individual armor or weapon page.
- Depending on the current magic status of the item you will need to supply a Mavric.
- Upgrading to Magic (1) or Magic (2) status requires a Pass Mavric
- Upgrading to Noble status requires a Nium Mavric
- Upgrading to Divine Noble status requires a Tatum Mavric
- You may also use a Alchemist's Will (D-Shop item), which doubles your chances of a successful upgrade. Simply click the Alchemist's Will in your inventory and it will be loaded into the upgrade window.
- Click on "Creation" to attempt the upgrade.
- Succeeding the upgrade will place the appropriate enhancement onto the item. The value is random. Once again, the details of what enhancements can be created are on the individual armor or weapon page.
- Failing the upgrade will do one of three things:
- Keep the item the same.
- Demote the item 1 enhancement (e.g. Noble to Magic (2))
- Demote the item 2 enhancements (e.g. Noble to Magic (1))
Visit the Weapons or Armor pages and browse to your item to see the exact rates and costs, as well as the possible enhancements that may be obtained when upgrading.
Notes
- It is strongly recommended to fully socket the item (if possible) before upgrading due to the higher cost and lower success rates of socketing Magic/Noble/Divine items.
